The Board of the Minto Arts Council announced a COVID-19 update on MARCH 25, 2020. Acknowledging the unique challenges of the artistic community in dealing with the COVID-19 situation. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our artists, volunteers, patrons and supporters. We will do our best to support the artistic community.

This obligated us to make some difficult decisions concerning our spring schedule of exhibitions.  The current show “Multidimensional Transmutation” by Dana Savard will either continue when we re-open, or be re-scheduled to a later date.  The “Changing Face of Photography” show set for April 2 – 25th will be postponed. The June 2 -20th Student Art Show is cancelled.

The Juried Art Show was scheduled for May 7 – 30th.  If able, we intend to move this show to June.  If this is not possible, this year’s edition of the show will be cancelled.  We will be communicating with the artists and with the jurors in this regard, and will make any further decisions regarding this show known as soon as possible.

The Annual General Meeting previously set for March 30, 2020 will be postponed to a later date.

These actions disappoint us all but it is the responsible path to take in view of current information.  The situation will be reviewed again by mid-May at the latest and we will communicate a new COVID-19 UPDATE then or earlier if things change. At this time we would like to thank all of you for your continued support and patronage of the arts in your community. We look forward to bringing new shows to our community in the future.

As always please contact us at info@mintoartscouncil.ca or 519-338-2497 if you require any further information.

Stay Safe, practice physical distancing and be sure to wash your hands.
