It’s time for the Minto Arts Council’s Annual Christmas Silent Auction! This year the Silent Auction will once again be held in the Minto Arts Gallery (3rd floor of the Harriston Public Library) from November 9 to December 2, 2017.
The public is invited to view and bid on items during regular gallery hours throughout this period, and from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. on November 15 during Harriston Ladies’ Night.
This is our major annual fundraiser, and funds raised through the Christmas Silent Auction items go directly to supporting the Minto Arts Council and its initiatives, including:
- Operating and maintaining the Minto Arts Gallery;
- Providing annual “Archie” (Art Achievement) Awards to Minto-Clifford Public School and Palmerston Public School;
- Providing an annual Art Award to a Norwell District Secondary School student; and
- Offering affordable arts programming through the Basement Café Concert Series (2 shows/year), which showcases local musicians.
The Minto Arts Council is always looking for new supporters to keep and support the arts and artists in our community and surrounding area. We greatly appreciate those who have been loyal contributors to our Christmas Silent Auction over the years.
How You Can Help
If you’d like to donate an item to the Silent Auction, please contact Eleanor Butt, Minto Arts Council Silent Auction Coordinator, at 519-338-5242. All auction items must be received by Saturday, November 4, 2017.
If you prefer not to provide a silent auction item, monetary donations are also welcome. Financial contributions will receive a charitable tax receipt and recognition in the gallery for the duration of the silent auction.
